Picaridin (Icaridin)

Picaridin is part of the piperidine family, along with many other pharmaceuticals and alkaloids such as piperine, which gives black pepper its spicy taste. It displays excellent sustainable repellency against a broad spectrum of insect pests in public health, animal health and household products when applied directly onto skin or clothing. It does not dissolve plastics, synthetics or sealants. Effective against the following insects: Mosquitoes: Aedes aegypti, Aedes albopictus, Culex quinquefasciatus, Culex pipiens fatigans, Anopheles stephensi, Anopheles sinensis, Anopheles dirus, Anopheles funestus and Anopheles arabiensis. Flies: Musca domestica, Stomoxys calcitrans, Simulium venustum and Tabanidae. Ticks, fleas, biting midges, ants and cockroaches. Picaridin products are widely used in a variety of formulations, including pump sprays, liquids, aerosols, wipes, balms and roll on sticks. EU Commission and WHO approved.
