Prallethrin is a photolabile synthetic pyrethroid exhibiting a broad spectrum of activity with outstanding knock-down and kill of insects by contact and stomach action. It also exhibits repellency and has excellent flushing properties. It is especially suitable for mosquito control and other crawling and flying insect pests at low doses including Blattellidae, Culicidae and Muscidae. It has excellent heat stability and is recommended in a variety of household and public health applications including liquid emanator devices (LED’s), mats, coils, crawling and flying insect aerosols, liquid concentrates, and ultra-low volume (ULV) space sprays.

It can be used on its own or in combination with other insecticides and the synergist piperonal butoxide that enhances the activity of an insecticide and assists in overcoming metabolic (detoxification) resistance.
